Silk Flower Foundations
The structure behind the art

Foundations for serious silk flower work.

Art without craft is expression. Craft without art is execution. Mastery lives where both meet.
Silk flower making is not about copying forms or producing identical results. Each flower is inherently individual — shaped by material, hand, and moment. What can be learned is not repetition, but understanding.

Silk Flower Foundations — Level I is an online course focused on developing a refined way of working with silk flowers. Not formulas. Not shortcuts. But the craft beneath the surface that allows artistic decisions to become intentional.

What this course is about
I’ll show you how to craft silk flowers that look and feel alive. You’ll master the essentials—fabric prep, shaping, and color—through a straightforward process that supports your unique style rather than limiting it.
It's not about making perfect replicas. It’s about building your confidence so that every piece you create feels intentional, balanced, and whole.

What you’ll take away
  • A natural eye for form: You’ll learn to see and build silk flowers as organic shapes, not just flat patterns.
  • Structure meets freedom: A solid technical foundation that actually gives you the confidence to experiment.
  • Growth-oriented craft: A refined set of skills designed to evolve and improve as you do.
  • Self-mastery: The ability to look at your own work, understand what’s missing, and know exactly how to fix it.
This isn’t just a hobby course. It’s a roadmap for those who are ready to take their work to a professional, mature level.

Is this course for you?
This is designed for artists and makers who:
  • Work (or aspire to work) professionally with silk flowers.
  • See craftsmanship as a vital part of their art.
  • Value deep, lasting skills over "quick-fix" results.
  • Are looking for their own creative voice, not just a guide on how to imitate others.

How we’ll work
Silk Flower Foundations — Level I is a thoughtfully structured online experience. Instead of jumping around, you’ll follow a natural sequence where each step builds on the last, giving you a deep understanding of the whole process.
This course is designed for slow, intentional making. It’s the "atelier way"—focused on craftsmanship and attention to detail, rather than a factory-style assembly line.

Meet Your Instructor
I’m Elena, and I have been a silk flower artist since 2010. Over the years, I’ve created custom pieces for private clients and brands, published nearly 50 tutorials, and shared my craft with students all over the world.

From 2014 to 2017, I designed every silk flower for the New York Millinery collections with Anya Caliendo. Today, my work is featured in the permanent “Cutting Edge” exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland.

My practice is rooted in a quiet discipline and a deep respect for materials. I’m not interested in teaching you how to make a perfect replica; I want to show you how a flower is truly built—how fabric is prepared, shaped, and refined until it begins to move with intention.
I believe that beauty is never an accident. It emerges from focused attention, repetition, and a mastery of your tools. In my work, no two flowers are ever identical—and that isn't a flaw. It’s the goal. Variation is where the life of the flower lives.

To me, teaching isn’t about passing on finished forms to be copied. It’s about giving you the foundations to develop your own artistic language. This is where craft supports art—and where true mastery begins.

Testimonials / Student Success Stories :

“This wasn’t about copying a flower — it was about learning how to build one properly. After finishing the course, I felt confident experimenting and creating my own variations.” Sarah (designer)

“What I appreciated most was the structure. Every step had a reason. It felt like learning a language rather than following instructions.” Sophia (milliner)
