Chrysanthemum bud

Before I start a new project I buy a real flower from a flower shop, examen it carefully, trace the leaves, petals of the flower to make patterns and then start experimenting with coloring, with different types of silk for leaves, petals and every flower part and finally shaping techniques using flower making tools.
and this is a first sample of my silk Chrysanthemum bud ; )

I've found a new way to make the center of the flower. Usually you do it using a plastic ball or cotton wool.

You'll never guess what material you can use to make a center/bud of most of the flowers.

Everyone of you has that at home. It is cheap and easy to work with. It has a perfect shape memory.

Any ideas before I reveal what material I used to make the flower center of my Chrysanthemum bud?

Beautiful Elena. Very realistic looking. In answer to your question, are you talking about a sponge?

Delizioso!!!
Anche io penso che il materiale per il centro del fiore sia la spugna.
