So, my first silk flower was a soft version, with no supporting wires, dyed with my kid's coloring set and instead of glue I stitched petals which gave more volume at the sepal area, which was difficult to attach to my dress. It was a disaster : )
At the end I didn't wear it but what a fun time it was discovering each step of creating my first silk flower!... and since then I literally lived in my working studio learning how to mix dyes, color different flower parts, shaping and assembling silk flowers. I've made tons of mistakes indeed, from time to time I felt frustrated until I figured out each step on the way with the help of my first teacher and my burning desire to learn this art.
