Every silk rose has its unique personality. Some roses are cooperative and come together seamlessly, petal by petal, much like baking a dessert from a trusted recipe. These roses can typically be completed in 4 to 6 hours.
On the other hand, there are roses with temperamental and unpredictable natures, reminiscent of young French cabaret actresses.
These roses insist on trying on petal after petal, requiring them to be made from luxurious, glossy, and delicate silks. Some roses even have the audacity to demand different coloring or petal styles, or petal shapes... It can be quite the challenge to meet the high expectations of these demanding roses.
My name is Elena. I have worked as a silk flower artist since 2010 when I discovered that a simple piece of fabric can be transferred into a realistic silk flower. I have created custom silk flowers for individuals and companies, published almost 50 tutorials, taught individuals and groups of students. I designed every silk flower for the New York Millinery collections 2014-2017 with an extraordinary milliner Anya Caliendo. You can find my silk flowers in the permanent "Cutting Edge" Expo at The National Museum Of Scotland.
I'm delighted to share my knowledge and help you become masters of silk flower art.
